Somatic, Perceptive and Queer Ecologies
Artist Jessica Segall, who explores climate care through the lens of queer ecology, will be in conversation with Ritó Natálio and Michael Marder, a professor and author specializing in phenomenology, environmental philosophy, and political thought.
Moderated by Margarida Mendes, the discussion will bring together Segall, Natálio, and Marder to reflect on injured and vulnerable landscapes and bodies. Connecting Segall’s Human Energy project with Natálio’s performance Fossil, the conversation will explore somatic performance and perceptive practices in relation to extractivism, energy, and desire — framed within Marder’s writing on energy, libido, and queer ecologies from his new book Eco-Freud.
Jessica Segall was the FLAD / AiR 351 grant recipient in 2023.
