Jessica Segall, an artist exploring climate care through the lens of queer ecology, will be in conversation with Ritó Natálio and Michael Marder, a professor and author specializing in phenomenology, environmental philosophy, and political thought.
The discussion, moderated by Margarida Mendes, a researcher and curator in environmental humanities, will bring together Natálio, Marder, and Segall to examine injured and vulnerable landscapes and bodies. Bringing Segall’s project Human Energy in relation to Natálio’s performance Fossil, the conversation will discuss somatic performance and perceptive practices in relation to extractivism, energy and desire. These works will be positioned in Michael Marder’s writing on energy, as well as libido and queer ecologies in his new publication Eco-Freud.
