Open Studio | Workshop with Adriana Arroyo
Microbiome: Organs
Dec 19, 3pm – 5pm
At CAC, Torres Vedras @cactvedras
During her time at CAC Torres Vedras, artist Adriana Arroyo developed her ongoing research on the concept of the microbiome. This body of work relates to the connection between illness, isolation, nutrition, soil, clay, ceramics, and community. While in residency, she focused on the internal organs as repositories for emotions, trauma, healing, and possibility.
For the Open Studio at CAC she will present a series of ceramics, the results of a collaboration with Berlin-based, Costa Rican dancer and psychologist Gabriela Lobo, as well as a contribution from Lisbon-based, Portuguese acupuncturist Maria Moreira. There will be a reading and a movement workshop with Gabriela Lobo which will include shaping clay. Everyone is welcome!
