Fábio Colaço (1995, Lisbon) holds a degree in Sculpture and a master degree in Performance and Installation from Faculdade de Belas-Artes in Lisbon. He also studied at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Munich.
Although his main training was in sculpture, he uses various media depending on the themes and notions he explores in his artistic practice. Most of the time, this is done through visual and/or conceptual associations of different elements of everyday life, which make it possible to explore themes related to contemporary social, political and economic reality. Humor, subversion and irony run through most of his work, questioning social and symbolic structures, especially those linked to the creation of economic value and power. With an approach that is characterised by the plurality of the themes addressed, his work seeks to explore a constellation of connections between structural elements of daily social praxis.
