Visual artist from Belo Horizonte (Brazil), lives and works in Lisbon since 2017. Master’s degree in Communication and Arts at NOVA University of Lisbon (2022) and postgraduation in Visual Arts and Contemporary at State’s University of Minas Gerais (2015). Attended Ar.Co in Lisbon from 2017 to 2021 where started the research on objecthood – working on installations and series that investigate perceptions of space, drawing, inquiry situations, relations of control and material tensions.
Selected for Arte Jovem Prize by Millennium bcp Foundation (2023) and Carpe Diem, presented solo shows at CCCV – Centro Cultural Cabo Verde (PT) and Belo Campo (Galeria Francisco Fino, PT), and group shows at Pavilhão 31 (PT), Salto (PT), Galeria Liminare (PT), Egeu (PT), and Centro Cultural UFMG (BRA).
During AIR 351 residency, Biatto intends to practice the idea of “slice installation” in order to experiment possible compositions, developing a new body of work. Using similar modus with different materials, guided by his most recent research, the silent space is a choice to observe in deeper amplitude and dimension – disclosing connections, contrasting meanings and confronting decisions to unlock a certain instant as an image.
