DTK – Det Tverrfaglige Kunstinstitutt (Institute of Interdisciplinary Art) is an applied arts school in Bærum, Norway, offering an interdisciplinary artistic education that prepares students for a creative and critically engaged professional career. Through an integrated curriculum including drawing, printmaking, painting, photography, sculpture, video, and art theory, students develop individual expression and technical skills within a studio-based environment. DTK is accredited by NOKUT (the Norwegian Agency for Quality Assurance in Education), ensuring access to a recognized and professionally relevant education.
The school maintains international partnerships and exchange programs, including collaborations with Escuela de Arte San Telmo in Spain and ESAD in Portugal, expanding students’ cultural and academic opportunities.
In addition, DTK promotes internships, study visits, and collaborative projects with galleries, artists, and cultural institutions, connecting academic training with professional practice and the global art field. With a strong commitment to continuous learning and experimentation, DTK positions itself as an inclusive artistic educational environment, connected both to the local community in Bærum and to international artistic networks.
AiR 351 will host a DTK workshop in March 2026, targeted for 20 students (both current and former students). During their time at AiR 351, students will explore the relationship between architecture and the surrounding natural environment, the sea and the garden. Multiple visual directions will be articulated through a reflection on the volumetric relationship between interior and exterior spaces, addressing questions such as exposure to light, the horizon, and spatial ergonomics.
