In her solo exhibition, Katarína Poliačiková presents three works from her series “The Voice Without Language”, which she has been developing since 2015. In this “Portuguese trilogy”, as well as in her art work in general, she connects the seemingly impossible: the human and the geological time, little and big narratives, science and intimacy.
Her newest work, “Souvenirs of Fire”, is a context-specific project she has developed especially for the occasion of this exhibition. The objects that survived the Museum fire in 1978 – the burnt fossils – will be shown to the visitors for the first time since four decades. Here, the artist creates her own narrative to tell the (hi)story of the fire.
