TALKS & SCREENINGS

Countdown for February 14 (Saturday)

Public Event | 3–7 pm

AiR 351, Cascais

On February 14, AiR 351 opens its doors for a public event featuring presentations by artists currently in residence Lu Wei & Tuan Mu, followed by a talk by guest researcher Avital Barak.

At 3:30 pm, visual artists and curators Lu Wei and Tuan Mu will present a screening of selected works and a talk reflecting on their artistic practices. Based in Taipei, Taiwan, Lu Wei and Tuan Mu work at the intersection of contemporary ink art, new media and curatorial practice. Their work engages with feminist thought, digital culture, mythology and Asian philosophical traditions, combining ink painting, installation, video, AI and virtual reality.

At 5:00 pm, curator and cultural scholar Avital Barak will present Reflections from a Collective Investigation, a talk emerging from the previous research projects, namely “Invasive Species?”. Based in Lisbon, Avital Barak is a researcher fellow at CineLab/IFILNOVA (NOVA University Lisbon) and works with research-based exhibitions, public programs and transdisciplinary methodologies centred on collective investigation. Invasive Species? is a transdisciplinary, critical and collective research project developed at AiR 351, engaging with migrating knowledge through shared inquiry. Participants include Lucía Andujar, Marta Angelozzi, Alexandra do Carmo, Márcio Carvalho, Ellie Ga, Léna Lewis King, Jacki Ochs, Vanja Smiljanić, Takashi Sugimoto and Giovanni Tusa.

AiR 351 wishes to thank all sponsors, supporters and partners involved for making this program possible.
