During our residency at the CAC, we are conducting sound recordings with local residents, immersing ourselves in a process of gathering and editing testimonies. Our sound piece aims to capture the essence of themes like care and dependence, addressing them within a broad context that resonates with the complexity of these relationships in everyday life. This project not only documents local voices and experiences but also reinvents them, transforming them into a rich, multifaceted sound material where each testimony carries a unique emotional charge.
From these encounters, we select specific fragments that, through processes of alteration and editing, compose a sound landscape with psychological nuances. This “sound convulsion” reflects a web of affections and tensions, creating an atmosphere that becomes both familiar and unsettling for the listener. The testimonies, sometimes fragmented, sometimes reconstituted, weave a narrative that goes beyond words, suggesting layers of meaning and allowing a sensory immersion into shared realities and the depth of human bonds.
